Job summary

Home Instead in Dubuque, IA is seeking caring professionals for part-time roles providing in-home senior care. You’ll support with transfers, mobility, personal care, meals, light housekeeping, errands, and transportation as needed, while promoting independence and comfort in familiar surroundings.

Shifts include weekends and evenings; weekend pay premium applies. Paid training and 24/7 office support are provided. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing personal care and mobility assistance.
• Ability to follow care plans with patience and empathy.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Safely guide and assist clients with transfer, mobility and movement through the home.
• Utilize a gait belt to ensure safe transfer when directed by care plan.
• Support with personal cares including showering/bathing, toileting, incontinence, grooming, dressing and hygiene.
• Prepare balanced meals and snacks based on individual dietary needs.
• Focus on doing household tasks and activities with the clients, encouraging independence.
• Encourage and provide guidance for established exercise or therapy plans.
• Use dementia-care experience to navigate cognitive changes and communicate with patience.
• Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and transportation when required.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
