Job summary

Senior Community Care of Michigan PACE, a program of Volunteers of America National Services, seeks a Caregiver in Lansing, MI. This role promotes compassionate care and supports elderly participants at home and in the Day Center.

Weekends are required with one weekend per month, offering stable hours and a friendly team environment. We provide a supportive leadership team, a welcoming campus, growth opportunities, and benefits including PTO, life insurance, and wellness incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
• Have a minimum of one year experience in working with the frail and elderly population.
• Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with non-skilled activities of daily living (ADL’s) in the home and in the Day Center including bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting as assigned or needed.
• Assists participants with non-skilled restorative and supportive care in the home and in the Day Center including ambulating, positioning, transferring, skin care, personal care, etc. as assigned or needed.
• Assists participants with Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL’s) including shopping, cleaning, changing bed linens, laundry, meal preparation and other routine household care as assigned.
• Assists with participant activities in the Day Center, including meal service and clean-up.
