Addus HomeCare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support seniors and people with disabilities living independently. This entry-level role offers flexible hours and opportunities to learn quality home care in a values-driven organization.

The DSP will follow care plans, assist with daily tasks, and help members stay safe and comfortable at home, with pay up to $15.68/hour and benefits outlined by the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of in-home care experience is required.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and work with limited supervision.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Observe and report any changes in the member's condition.
• Assist with self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Transport member to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
