Job summary

Addus HomeCare in New Mexico is hiring Flex Home Care Aides (HCAs) to support clients in their homes. The role is on call for 5 days per week with 40 hours (20 guaranteed) and one weekend day.

You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation to appointments, and report changes to the office. Must be 18+, pass a background check, have reliable transportation (license & insurance if driving), and communicate well.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized.

Responsibilities

• Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs of the client (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor’s appointments, grocery store and other errands.
• Assist client with the self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report any changes in client’s condition.
