Job summary

Personal Care Services Midsouth, LLC is seeking dedicated homecare aides to serve clients in Alabama. The role focuses on providing daily living assistance and compassionate in-home care to individuals who may be aged, ill, or disabled.

Responsibilities include helping with bathing, dressing, meal prep, transportation, light housekeeping, and companionship while following established care plans and reporting changes to the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of personal care and home management.
• Knowledge of English language.
• Knowledge of emergency first aid CPR.
• Knowledge of clerical procedures such as maintaining records and completing forms.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the activities of daily living and personal care including bathing, shaving, ambulation, dressing, exercise, mouth care, hair care, feeding, toileting, nail care, transfer, and vital signs checks.
• Ensure client's safety and security by supervising the home environment.
• Teach/assist with meal planning and preparation, routine housekeeping (beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, kitchen and bathroom), and laundry.
• Provide companionship including social interactions, conversations, emotional reassurance, and engagement in mind-stimulating activities.
• Provides respite care for families per care plans and assists with essential shopping/errands.
• Assist clients with following a written diet plan and reinforcement of diet maintenance.
• Provide transportation or escort clients to medical facilities, errands, shopping and outings.
• Assist in basic client transfers and coordinate with other caregivers as needed.
• Support clients by writing/typing correspondence or researching information as required.
• Engage with clients through conversation, reading, games, or other activities to promote engagement.
