Job summary

SHALOM FAMILY CARE, LLC in Berkeley is seeking a Home Care Aide to work directly with patients in their homes, following a one‑on‑one care plan with kindness and attention to detail. You are organized, dependable and communicate clearly with clients and supervisors; prior Home Health or Hospice experience is a plus, and reliable transportation is a must.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proven caregiver experience preferred.
• CPR knowledge or first aid training a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as transferring between beds, baths, wheelchairs, or vehicles.
• Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care.
• Maintain records of patient care and report observations to supervisor.
• Engage with patients by conversation or reading aloud to keep them mentally healthy and alert.
• Run errands or accompany clients on shopping trips.
• Engage patients in activities to promote well‑being.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Plan and prepare meals with client assistance when able.
