Job summary

Institute on Aging is seeking Home Care Aides to provide in-home support for older adults and disabled individuals in Marin County. Responsibilities include personal care, companionship, and light housekeeping to maintain independence and quality of life.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of non-medical caregiving experience, English proficiency, and valid background clearances. Flexible shifts and both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of non-medical caregiving experience.
• English language proficiency required.
• Livescan/fingerprinting clearance; clean criminal background.
• Home Care Services Bureau registration (PER ID#) required.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (2 forms of ID).
• TB clearance (skin test, X-ray or blood test).

Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Accompanying clients to shopping, errands or doctor’s appointments.
• Assistance with transfers, ambulation, or exercise.
• Meal preparation including special diets and feeding assistance.
• Light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, laundry/linen changes and dishes.
• Medication reminders and companionship.
