Job summary

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) seeks a Health Aide/Part-Time at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, in Decatur, GA. Salary range is $20.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience. This hourly, part-time position has no benefits.

Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Includes on-site work with responsibilities spanning basic care, patient support, and safety. Background check required by state law.

Qualifications

• Six months experience performing direct care activities, basic nursing procedures and/or training for persons with physical, mental health and/or substance abuse disabilities.
• Experience working in the correctional system/recent military service may be helpful.
• Proficient in computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers clients call signals
• Assists in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurse
• Bathes, grooms, shaves and dresses clients
• Conducts activities for recreation and socialization
• Ensures safety and security of clients
• Feeds clients who are unable to feed themselves
• Observes and documents patient data, behavior and activity
• Prepares clients for treatment or examination
• Provides clients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed
• Transports and/or accompanies clients to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcher
