Job summary

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking a compassionate Habilitation Technician to work as a Companion/Buddy for people with disabilities on Oahu. This role offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus and the pay rate of $19/hour, with options for full-time or part-time schedules.

You’ll build one-on-one relationships, help clients pursue hobbies, develop independence, and stay safe at home and in the community. No experience required—training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Passion for providing opportunities to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
• Patience, empathy and dedication

Responsibilities

• Build long lasting relationships in a one-on-one setting a few hours a week.
• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities, like Special Olympics.
• Support clients in developing their independence and achieving their goals (e.g., budgeting, socializing, shopping, using public transportation, exercise)
• Be attentive to meet the individual’s needs with dignity and respect.
• Ensure client safety and well-being in the home and community.
• Have fun on Oahu as a supportive Buddy!
