Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group, LLC is seeking a part-time Funeral Assistant/Attendant in New Braunfels, TX to support funeral directors and assist with services, transportation, and family needs. You will perform office duties, prepare decedents for services, greet families, manage logistics, and drive company vehicles.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and pass background check is required; evenings, weekends, and holidays may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to use a computer and type.
• Proficient in MS Office suite and willingness to learn other software is required.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work and communicate effectively with others.
• Able to maintain composure in challenging situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and pull/push 200lbs or more of removals if required.
• Able to pass a Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with removals of decedents (varies by location).
• Assist with preparing, dressing, and placing decedents into casket.
• Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other personal keepsakes or mementos; ensures proper care and storage of all items.
• Prepares for services and related documents as directed by management.
• Performs office duties such as answering phones and operating equipment.
• Runs errands such as floral deliveries, supply pick-ups, and document drop-offs.
• Serves as an usher, assists with parking, and fulfills transportation requirements.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family transportation.
• Assists with visitations, memorials, and funeral services, including chapel setup and delivery of family items.
• Greets and assists client families and visitors, providing information and support as needed.
• Accommodates family needs during services and visitations.
• Washes and cleans funeral home vehicles and family vehicles when required.
• Must be able to work beyond standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
