Qualifications

• Active Utah Funeral Service license, or ability to obtain licensure.
• Prior experience in funeral service is preferred.
• Genuine compassion for families and the ability to remain calm and composed in emotional environments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with documentation.
• Clear, professional communication skills, both in person and in writing.
• Comfortable with on-call availability, including nights and weekends.
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to showing up for families and teammates alike.

Responsibilities

• Meet with families to guide arrangement conferences with warmth, patience, and professionalism.
• Help families personalize services to honor and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
• Explain available services, merchandise, and pricing clearly and without pressure.
• Coordinate all details of the service, including clergy, music, obituaries, flowers, and vendor logistics.
• Follow up with families through the aftercare process to ensure their needs are met.
• Complete and file all required paperwork accurately, including death certificates, permits, and authorizations.
• Maintain thorough and organized records in accordance with Utah regulations and company standards.
• Ensure all documentation is obtained and processed in a timely manner.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Assist with or perform decedent transfers with professionalism and dignity.
• Coordinate with licensed staff and the preparation team on timing and logistics.
• Maintain a welcoming, clean, and professional environment for families visiting the funeral home.
• Collaborate with the broader team on scheduling, service support, and day-to-day operations.
• Represent Legacy Funerals and Cremations and IFP with professionalism in all community interactions.
