Ochsner Health in Slidell, LA is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform appointment scheduling and direct patient care under supervision. You will support exam preparation, collect vital signs, document demographics and insurance information, and coordinate with departments to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and clinic or medical office experience preferred. Training programs and CHAM/CHAA or MA certifications are assets.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required; CHAM/CHAA/MA certifications are a plus.
• Preferred completion of a Medical Assistant training program or related clinic experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, guests, and family members.
• Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and co-pays.
• Input demographic and financial data; explain insurance benefits and collect payments due.
• Take vital signs and screen for medical history as needed.
• Prepare patients for exams and answer questions.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments and route to appropriate departments.
• Respect privacy and adapt communication to patients’ needs.
• Assist in compliance with regulations and clinic policies.
