Job summary

Brookhaven Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking a Food Service Aide in East Orange, NJ. The role focuses on maintaining clean and sanitary food service areas and may assist in food preparation.

Key responsibilities include serving in dining rooms, delivering snacks and meals, and adhering to sanitation and safety policies. English literacy is required; prior Food Service Aide experience is helpful. Benefits and OT opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English language.
• Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty.
• Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures.
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor.
• Serve – in dining rooms;
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed;
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures;
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor;
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
• Performs related work as assigned.
