Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Meridian is seeking a personable Medical Assistant to support a busy family medicine provider and collaborate with other MAs and clinicians. The role includes immunizations, well visits for children, minor procedures, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.

Ideal candidates have MA experience in family or internal medicine, with strong customer service, communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
• MA certification within 90 days of hire from Saint Alphonsus approved agencies (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, NPCE MA).
• New Graduates: MA certificate of completion or externship hours or 6 months MA experience in lieu of externship hours.
• Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 year MA experience OR current MA Certification OR renew within 90 days from hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA/ARC or Military Training Network at hire.
• EMT and CNA certifications do not count towards MA certification.

Responsibilities

• Support a busy Family Medicine provider and other MAs and providers.
• Administer immunizations, complete child well visits, assist with minor procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy, POC testing, UAs, ear lavages, and complete tasks in the inbox.
• Ideal candidate will have MA experience in family or internal medicine and work well with older adults.
• Demonstrate strong customer service, follow-through, and critical thinking.
• Thrive in a team environment with effective communication and deliver excellent patient care.
