Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking compassionate Resident Aides to provide daily living assistance and companionship to our residents. The role emphasizes dignity, safety, and excellent communication with residents, families, and coworkers.

The ideal candidate has experience with the elderly, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Flexible weekends are required, with comprehensive training provided and room for growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Driver’s license or ID.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care).
• Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Maintaining a clean environment (light housekeeping).
• Reporting changes in residents’ condition to the supervisor.
• Communicating professionally with families and co-workers.
• Complying with safety and infection control procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
