Job summary

Tree of Life Personal Care Home LLC in Pennsylvania seeks a Personal Care Assistant to provide hands-on assistance with residents' daily living, hygiene, meals, laundry, and housekeeping, ensuring safety and comfort.

You will work with an interdiscliplinary team, document changes, support care plans, and maintain a clean, respectful environment; high school diploma required, prior long-term care preferred, ServeSafe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a long-term healthcare setting preferred.
• Understanding of care of the elderly or chronically ill.
• Understanding of the chain of command and accountability in all functions of the unit.
• Must be dependable and willing to work as part of a team.
• Leadership skills in interdisciplinary staff development and resident/family relationships.
• ServeSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in personal care (dressing/undressing, toileting, tub bath/shower, nails, hair care, shaving, hygiene) of residents as needed.
• Make or turn down beds and tidy rooms daily or as needed.
• Wash residents' personal clothing and return to rooms.
• Serve meals and assist in resetting tables.
• Maintain food safety during storage, prep and cleanup.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to LPN/Administrator and participate in care plans.
• Complete assignment sheets noting unusual events and missing care.
• Distribute appointment reminders to residents.
• Maintain communication with residents' families.
• Follow fire and safety procedures and respond to emergencies.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in education/orientation programs.
• Assist residents to dining room safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, neat atmosphere throughout the home.
