Job summary

Catholic Charities’ Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) seeks compassionate DSPs to join our group homes in Pompton Lakes, NJ. This per diem overnight role offers direct care, assistance with daily living tasks, medication support, and transportation for residents.

Training is provided, and benefits accompany a stable schedule. Candidates should have HS diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to meet CPR/First Aid and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times.
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.
• This career requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• A valid (non-provisional) driver's license.
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of residents in the group home.
• Assist/supervise in personal care, bathing/toileting, cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents.
• Drive residents to/from day programs and community activities using agency vehicles.
• Document daily services provided.
• Assist with community-based activities.
