Job summary

Providence Senior Living is seeking a Driver / Maintenance Assistant to safely transport residents to appointments and events while assisting with maintenance duties to keep the facility safe and comfortable. The role combines driving responsibilities, vehicle upkeep, and basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, and light carpentry.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, and a clean driving record is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role is preferred.
• Prior experience in an assisted living or healthcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and activities.
• Assist residents in and out of vehicles with safety in mind.
• Maintain and schedule servicing for the facility's vehicle fleet.
• Follow traffic laws and transportation policies.
• Record trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
• Perform safety inspections of equipment, systems, and spaces.
• Report major issues to the Facilities Manager.
• Maintain grounds, landscaping, snow removal, and debris cleanup.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
• Help move furniture and set up event spaces.
