Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Willed Body Program Driver to support anatomical donation services in Dallas. The role involves safe, respectful transportation of deceased donors, maintaining vehicle records, and assisting with donor logistics and administrative tasks.

The assignment is temporary for approximately six months with potential extension based on need and performance. Candidates must hold a valid Texas Driver's License and be able to lift up to 150 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 150 lbs.
  • Professionalism and respect when interacting with donor families.
  • Ability to maintain vehicle operating records and report issues promptly.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and respectfully transport whole-body donors from hospitals, hospices, residences, and other facilities to the designated location.
  • Lift and maneuver deceased individuals weighing up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain complete vehicle operating records and report maintenance or mechanical issues.
  • Perform basic vehicle upkeep including refueling and checking tire pressure, oil, water, and battery levels.
  • Cross-trained to respond to death calls, coordinate logistics, and communicate with next of kin; assist staff with operational tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and procedural standards for donor handling and confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
