Job summary

Almost Family in Oregon is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, promoting independence and personal goals in a safe, supportive home setting.

Shifts include days, evenings, weekends, and overnights. Paid training is provided, with benefits such as health insurance, PTO, and a retirement plan. Eligible part-time positions may build toward full-time schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Able to pass a background check.
• 1+ years experience providing support for an I/DD individual.
• Have a valid driver's license, valid auto insurance and reliable transportation.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Be comfortable working in a diverse range of home environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide help with activities of daily living (ADLs) including physical and emotional support, healthcare recommendations, behavioral interventions, and communication support.
• Provide transportation for appointments and daily activities.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and foster positive self-esteem.
• Provide assistance with general housekeeping and home management.
• Assist with aspects of personal care and hygiene (showering/bathing, toileting, changing incontinence briefs).
