Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States in Walton, KY is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct care, training, and assistance with activities of daily living for individuals in our Northern Kentucky Developmental Disabilities Services program. You will assist with daily living, recreation, and community integration.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED preferred, ability to read and write English, and a commitment to respectful, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents' safety and comfort and meet medical, nutritional, and personal care needs.
• Engage with consumers in a supportive, therapeutic manner and reinforce positive behaviors.
• Assist with transportation and community integration activities.
• Perform housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping and laundry duties.
• Complete cleaning tasks and routine maintenance to keep a neat environment.
• Participate in mandatory training and staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
