Job summary

The Arc of Butte County in Chico, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional for the Adult Day Program to lead structured activities, teach life skills, and promote independence in a warm, supportive setting. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with hourly pay ranging from $17.00 to $18.30, dependent on experience.

You will work with participants of varying abilities, ensuring person-centered, respectful services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in caregiving, education, or human services preferred.
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities (arts, crafts, music, games, exercise, cooking, education).
• Plan community outings and recreational activities.
• Teach daily living skills and promote independence.
• Provide hands-on support with mobility and daily routines.
• Document attendance, progress, and observations; communicate with staff.
