Appalachian Community Services is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Robbinsville, NC. This entry‑level role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them achieve goals outlined in their Person-Centered Plans.

You'll provide care at home and in the community, use positive reinforcement, and maintain documentation. Weekend shifts, local travel, and a supportive team environment are part of the job.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Compassionate and caring attitude with strong work ethic and effective communication skills.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Physical ability to work in various environments, including navigating stairs in private residences.

Responsabilidades

• Assist individuals in developing new skills and achieving goals as outlined in their PCP.
• Provide and maintain a safe, supportive environment for clients at home and in the community.
• Use positive reinforcement to encourage growth.
• Help clients with daily living activities per their plan.
• Complete accurate documentation of services provided.
• Collaborate with Team Leader and IDD Program Director for guidance.
