Job summary

Firefly is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. The role emphasizes presence, patience, and connection, with training provided and no experience required.

You’ll support individuals to build independence, participate in activities, and access resources while following each person’s ISP. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and a rewarding sense of purpose.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable).
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in homes and communities.
• Help individuals access community resources and participate in social activities.
• Provide transportation for appointments, shopping, and outings.
• Teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money management.
• Assist with daily living needs, including personal care and hygiene.
• Document client progress, achievements, and milestones.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Follow each individual’s ISP.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
