Job summary

COMHAR INC. seeks a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in the Philadelphia area.

The DSP provides direct services and residential support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and behavioral health needs, promoting dignity, privacy, and independence while assisting with daily living activities and community engagement. Full-time and part-time positions are available across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Current PA Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Six months of related experience in an IDD/behavioral health setting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of consumer information.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work with individuals with varying emotional and cognitive challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person-centered support to individuals with IDs in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily living activities, personal hygiene, household tasks, and healthy routines.
• Support meal preparation, nutrition, service, and cleanup.
• Administer approved medications according to guidelines.
• Safely operate COMHAR vehicles to transport consumers as needed.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation for all duties.
• Report crises, incidents, or concerns to the Site Manager promptly.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of all consumer information and follow policies.
• Provide crisis intervention and assist at other sites when cross trained.
