Job summary

Volunteers of America Western Washington is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to assist adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will help with daily living activities, health and safety, meal prep, and community integration.

Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, and obtain NAR/CNA/HCA within 120 days. A WA driver’s license and clean background are required. This is a full/part-time role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read and understand program requirements and perform required documentation.
• Required to obtain an NAR, CNA, or HCA credential within 120 days of employment.
• Must attend all scheduled training and complete LTC certification within 120 days of employment.
• Washington State driver’s license and the ability to transport clients in an agency provided vehicle.
• Must have and maintain an acceptable background check record per WAC 388-101D-0070 guidelines.
• Must possess basic computer and internet skills.
• Use a smartphone to clock in and out.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in daily living activities and documentation.
• Assist with health, safety, personal care, meals, and community integration.
• Observe client changes and report to supervisor; document in client records.
• Provide transportation to access community activities and appointments.
• Assist with medication per individual plans and deescalation as needed.
• Carry out duties to promote client independence and skill development.
