Job summary

Ohio Living seeks a DSP-PRN to support adults with disabilities in our Day Habilitation program in Tyler, Texas. You will assist clients toward active treatment goals, document incidents, and implement engaging activities while maintaining safety and compliance with state and federal standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum 1 year employment/volunteer experience with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Experience implementing instruction and client support programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relationships with clients, staff, families, and therapists.
• Assist clients toward active treatment goals through formal and informal activities.
• Document all incidents completely, accurately, and timely.
• Implement social and recreational activities using approved curriculum and lesson plans.
• Utilize positive behavior management techniques including verbal redirection, de-escalation, and containment.
• Teach life skills, personal hygiene, and money management using approved curricula.
• Assist in orientation of new participants.
• Provide Therapeutic Crisis Intervention when required by staff.
• Adhere to CMS, HHSC, DFPS and agency policies and procedures.
