Job summary

Scioto Trails is seeking a Direct Support Professional in the Chillicothe area to provide direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves assisting with living environments, personal care, meals and household tasks, with the aim of promoting independence and empowerment.

No prior experience is required and orientation and training are paid. Evening and weekend availability is required; a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• A sincere desire to provide direct service to persons with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
• Ability to work as a team to maintain consistency and quality in services.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe living environment, bathing and personal hygiene, meal preparation and household tasks.
• Supervise, teach and assist the individual to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment.
