Job summary

ALIYA of Evanston is seeking a Dietary Aide to support nutritional services for residents. You will help review, prepare, and serve meals per menus and special diets, ensuring accuracy and quality in food service.

You will also assist with snacks, tray delivery, dining room service, and maintaining sanitary kitchen and dining areas, while following safety procedures and reporting issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in food service or a related field preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to properly care for and use dietary supplies and equipment.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of residents, staff, or others.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders.
• Prepare and serve residents' nutritional bedtime snacks and approved substitute foods for residents who decline served foods.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by ensuring equipment and supplies are properly maintained and infection control precautions are followed.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils, cookware, and equipment are clean and readily available for the next meal.
• Prepare and deliver snacks, food carts, and meal trays to designated areas.
• Serve food and beverages in the dining room in a courteous and professional manner.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and dish room as instructed by the supervisor.
• Maintain clean and organized food service areas and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Report equipment concerns, safety hazards, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor.
