Job summary

Avamere Three Fountains in Medford, OR is seeking a Culinary Aide to assist in preparing and serving meals to residents according to dietary needs. You will help with food handling, kitchen cleanliness, and dishwashing under the Culinary Services Manager's supervision.

Responsibilities include portioning, tray assembly, nourishing snack orders, and maintaining sanitation standards in a long-term care setting. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and participation in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail when setting up trays, using portion control, and sanitizing dishes and equipment.
• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
• Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.
• Interpersonal skills to work with department workers and other departments.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• Active CPR/BLS certification maintained during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
• Knowledge of dietary practices, laws, and long-term care facility regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Serve food on trays at proper time, attractively, and at correct temperature; may help with food prep.
• Examine completed tray for accuracy and place on cart.
• Fill orders for between-meal nourishments as assigned.
• Assist with daily cleaning duties of work areas, equipment, dishware, and floors.
• Follow facility and state/federal safety and sanitation policies and infection control procedures.
• Attend orientation, training, and in-service educational activities.
• Assist with inventorying and storing incoming foods, supplies, and equipment.
