Job summary

Autumn-Oaks-Assisted-Living is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to support the Dietary Supervisor and Cook in preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals for residents. You will help maintain clean, sanitary dining areas and follow safety protocols.

You’ll assist with light meal prep, accommodate dietary needs, and contribute to a respectful, compassionate environment for residents and families. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is helpful.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 14 years old.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have or be willing to obtain CBRF/RCAC certifications, if required by the community.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism with elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Set up and clean dining room before and after meals.
• Assist with basic meal prep and serving according to the planned menu.
• Help feed residents who need assistance following safety guidelines.
• Maintain sanitary food handling techniques and safe work practices.
• Clean kitchen surfaces according to sanitation schedules.
• Support a dignified, caring atmosphere with residents, families, and team members.
• Address resident dietary needs promptly and respectfully.
• Attend required meetings and in-service training opportunities.
• Follow all community policies and emergency procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
