Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cooking experience in healthcare, long‑term care, or institutional food service preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensure proper portion control, food quality, and presentation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
• Assist with inventory, food storage, and rotation procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the Dietary team to meet resident needs.
• Communicate respectfully with residents and staff.
