Job summary

Waters of McKenzie is seeking an experienced Cook to join our TEAM, preparing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residents with attention to dietary requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in institutional cooking, knowledge of sanitation and dietary procedures, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions while maintaining compassion for elders.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or equivalent.
• One year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred.
• Must have a sanitation certificate.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cook and assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Maintain sanitation and hygienic methods.
• Provide alternatives for residents with dietary restrictions.
• Demonstrate empathy and professional attitude toward elders and others with limited self-care capacity.
• Communicate effectively with staff and residents.
