Job summary

Lancaster Health Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation and service for patients, staff, and special events. The role emphasizes accurate portioning, adherence to diet orders, and safety in food handling as part of a supportive dietary team.

Responsibilities include serving meals, following menu plans, and assisting the Cook to ensure timely delivery of quality meals, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Food handler permit preferred per local regulatory requirements.
• Experience in food prep and service within a skilled nursing or long term care facility strongly preferred.
• Must be able to speak, understand, and write fluent English.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and/or service of meals for patients, employees, and special events as instructed by the Dietary Manager.
• Serve food and snacks according to the planned menu and patient/resident preferences and diet orders.
• Assist the Cook by ensuring food is prepared and portioned using proper food handling and safety techniques, on time, and in accordance with the menu and residents’ diet orders.
• May wash dishes when necessary or directed by the Dietary Manager.
