Job summary

NHC HealthCare Sparta is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support patient meals and daily food service operations in a hospital setting. Qualifications

• Must have sincere interest in foodservice and enjoy working with geriatric and healthcare patients.
• Must have or be willing to learn food preparation and simple cooking skills.
• Must know or be willing to learn therapeutic and modified diet information for patient trays.
• Must know or be willing to learn correct sanitation procedures and apply daily.
• Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions and speak understood English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate self-starter qualities and ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance in the dietary department.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and portioning food and supplies to prevent waste.
• Assist in preparing and serving foods for all diets under supervision of dietary staff.
• Set up trays, deliver carts, and check diets and food quality before service.
• Communicate and cooperate with staff, patients, and families.
• Attend training and adhere to dress code and department policies.
