Job summary

The Madera-Rehabilitation- dietary team seeks a compassionate Dietary Aide to assist with meals and dietary activities in accordance with facility standards. You will work with dieticians, cooks, and nursing staff to support residents’ nutritional needs and dignity.

You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, and follow safety procedures. Strong communication with residents, families, and staff is essential, as is reliability and teamwork in a busy care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
• Some experience helpful, on the job training will be provided

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requested
• Help with meal preparation in accordance to the dietary needs of the residents
• Assist in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Timely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food carts
• Follow the established portion controls recommended
• Adhere to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and clean up
• Keep work tables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweep and mop floors
• Dishwashing and cleaning of utensils
• Return clean dishes and utensils to the proper storage areas
• Carry out of garbage
• Dispose of food and waste per facility regulations
• Obtain food supplies for the next meal
• Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times
• Report any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures of the facility
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information
