Job summary

Trillium Behavioral Health seeks a Dietary Aide to support daily meal service for adult patients in a behavioral-health setting. You will prepare and serve meals, ensure dietary needs are followed, and maintain food-safety standards in a clean, organized kitchen and dining area.

You will work 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, in person. Prior food-service experience is preferred; ServSafe certification is required or obtainable within the hospital timeframe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• ServSafe certification is required or must be obtained within the hospital-established timeframe after hire.
• Healthcare or behavioral-health experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, reheat, and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to patients according to established meal schedules.
• Ensure each patient receives the correct meal based on dietary needs, allergies, texture modifications, and fluid restrictions.
• Receive food deliveries, verify quantities and product condition, and properly store refrigerated meals and supplies.
• Monitor and document food, refrigerator, and meal temperatures to maintain food-safety standards.
• Maintain organized food and supply inventory and notify leadership when items need to be reordered.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining, food-preparation, and dishwashing areas before and after meal service.
• Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, infection-prevention, and cross-contamination procedures.
• Maintain control of utensils, food-service items, supplies, chemicals, and waste to support a safe behavioral-health environment.
• Provide courteous and respectful service while interacting with adult and geriatric psychiatric patients.
• Communicate and coordinate with nursing, Mental Health Technicians (MHTs), dietary staff, and hospital leadership.
• Complete required temperature logs, cleaning records, inventory documentation, and other food-service records accurately and on time.
