Job summary

Watertown Health Care Center in Wisconsin is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to support our residents with meals and snacks in a clean, sanitary kitchen environment. You will assist in food service, follow diet lists, portion foods, and help ensure appetizing presentation.

Responsibilities include delivering meals, cleaning duties, and maintaining safety standards while delivering compassionate service to residents and families. English literacy is required; rotating shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• Must have knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Must be able to follow diet lists, portion foods as specified, and serve in an appetizing manner.
• Must interact positively with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
• Must read, write, speak, and follow written and oral directions in English.

Responsibilities

• Handles food and equipment according to corporate, local, state and federal sanitation policies and procedures.
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas as instructed by supervisor.
• Prepares and delivers snacks.
• Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to supervisor.
• Ensures that customer and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
