Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Chester, Virginia, is seeking a dining assistant to support resident meal service and beverage delivery. You will assist with menu orders, help with tray service, and maintain cleanliness in the dining room and kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow simple instructions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work under supervision.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull objects.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents when placing orders from the menu.
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea).
• Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls before and after meals.
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor.
• Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques.
• Basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.).
• Support proper food storage and labeling techniques.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Complete other duties assigned.
• Assist with tray service and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors.
