The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent, an apprenticeship experience, and state certification as a Crematory Operator. Strong attention to detail and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal program in funeral service or mortuary science as required by state law.
• Minimum 1–3 months experience as an apprentice.
• Certified Crematory Operator as required by state law; valid driver’s license if removals/deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Care for deceased respectfully during cremation process.
• Receive remains and ensure all documentation and visual identification are complete.
• Complete all required cremation process documentation and equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to licensing regulations for cremation activities at all levels.
• Maintain company logs/reports and state-specific reports.
• Promote safety and universal precautions in daily work.
• Maintain crematorium, equipment and facilities.
• May deliver remains to funeral homes or authorities.
• Other duties as directed by management.
