Job summary

Sci Corp is seeking a Crematory Operator in Oakland, CA. You will perform cremation-related duties with respect for the deceased and adhere to all state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include handling remains, documentation, equipment upkeep, and safe operations.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–3 months of apprenticeship, plus a valid driver’s license for removals. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal funeral service/mortuary science program per state law.
• 1–3 months apprentice experience required.

Responsibilities

• Care for deceased in a respectful manner throughout cremation process.
• Receive remains and verify documentation and visual identification.
• Complete required cremation documentation and maintenance logs.
• Comply with licensing regulations for cremation operations.
• Maintain all company logs, reports and chain of custody paperwork.
• Promote a safe work environment and follow universal precautions.
• Maintain crematorium and related equipment.
• May deliver or release cremated remains to funeral homes or authorities.
