Job summary

ReDiscover, a community mental health center serving southeastern Jackson County, MO, seeks a Counselor Technician for the CAP program on a PRN basis. You’ll support safety, help clients with life skills, and document progress in the EMR.

The role emphasizes compassionate, culturally competent care, with on-site duties, ADL coaching, and collaboration with a treatment team. A high school diploma and a valid MO Class E license are required; orientation is provided.

Qualifications

• Availability to work a PRN (as-needed) schedule; orientation provided.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Missouri Class E driver’s license and vehicle insurance required.
• Strong customer service and recovery-focused approach.
• Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; computer basics (Word/Excel) and email.

Responsibilities

• Monitors clients in a safe environment, performing and documenting client safety rounds.
• Facilitates structured activities per goals and treatment plan.
• Demonstrates culturally competent respect for clients and staff.
• Maintains cleanliness of the program space.
• Safeguards PHI and documents in the EMR system.
