Job summary

Maefair Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a per-diem Cook to prepare appetizing meals for residents, ensuring dietary needs are met. You will contribute to a positive dining experience and collaborate with dietary staff on menus and special dietary requirements.

The role requires experience as a cook, knowledge of food safety, and the ability to follow established menus while maintaining cleanliness and portion control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a Cook, preferably in healthcare or long-term care.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Safe knife handling skills.
• Experience operating commercial slicers, ovens, grills, large blenders, etc.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious and flavorful meals following prescribed menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food storage areas.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus and accommodate special dietary needs.
• Order and manage inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
