Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Cook-Dietary Aide to assist with food preparation for residents in a long-term care setting. The role supports the Food Service/Dietary Manager, helping ensure meals meet nutritional needs and are served at proper times and temperatures.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent.
• A minimum of one (1) year institutional food service experience as a cook.
• Experience in long term care food production is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in meal preparation, including salads, desserts and snacks for patients/residents, and prepare between-meal nourishments.
• Serve nourishments per procedural guidelines and ensure proper portioning.
• Properly store leftovers and opened food, follow guidelines for serving partner meals.
• Record menu substitutions and maintain accuracy according to guidelines.
• Comply with infection control policies and deliver trays to patients/residents.
• Maintain dishwashing and food preparation areas, monitor temperatures and sanitize equipment as required.
• Prepare and stock substitutes to accommodate dietary preferences and monitor resident acceptance.
