Job summary

Joseph’s House in Washington, DC is seeking a Community Care Aide to provide compassionate, relationship-centered care for residents, many of whom have complex health needs and histories of homelessness. You will engage residents in activities, assist with daily living, and support the care team in maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma and CPR, with nursing assistant or home health aide training preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; nursing assistant or home health aide training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, assess vital signs, monitor input/output and document services.
  • Assist with daily personal care tasks and bedside care including wound care and ROM exercises.
  • Maintain clean, pleasant environment through housekeeping tasks.
  • Prepare meals, assist residents at mealtimes and address dietary needs.
  • Transport and accompany residents to medical and social service appointments.
  • Encourage engagement in group activities and therapeutic offerings.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure safety and high-quality care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
