Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to assist with routine patient care under RN supervision in an acute care unit. The role includes clerical tasks, patient-focused activities, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Training will cover competency in patient care, documentation, and equipment handling. Responsibilities include admissions/discharges support, room prep, stock maintenance, and collaboration with the health care team across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA license in state of employment required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Completes pertinent documents and maintains patient records.
• Prepares rooms, sets up IV pots, and adjusts beds for patient comfort.
• Transports stable patients safely and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Cleans, procures and returns equipment and supplies; runs errands as needed.
• Assist licensed personnel to provide a safe, comfortable environment for patients.
• Performs unit-specific patient care tasks as per flowsheet and skills checklist.
• Identify changes in patient condition and report promptly to nurse in charge.
