Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in a Texas hospital seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to assist with routine patient care under RN supervision. You will help with admissions, transfers, discharges, and daily room setup, while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. Responsibilities include documentation, stocking, and responding to calls.

Requirements include a CNA license in Texas and BLS. Experience in acute care is preferred; 7AM–7PM shifts and full-time status are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
• CNA license in state of employment required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Completes pertinent documents.
• Prepares rooms for admission by setting up IV pots and adjusting beds.
• Transports stable patients safely as required.
• Maintains patient belongings and ensures confidentiality on discharge.
• Responds to emergencies and communicates with team members.
• Cleans, procures and returns equipment and supplies.
• Assist licensed personnel in providing a safe environment.
• Identify changes in patient condition and report promptly to the nurse.
• Assist with stocking and maintenance of unit supplies.
• Keeps unit supplies organized and accessible.
• Responds to phone calls and patient call lights.
• Adapt care methods to patient’s age-specific and developmental needs.
