Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. You will support the plan of care, maintain a safe environment, and document care activities across shifts at our Baton Rouge campus.

Ideal candidates hold a Louisiana CNA certification, BLS, CPI within 30 days, and a high school diploma. Candidates should be flexible to work a 24/7 schedule and demonstrate strong communication with patients and the care team.

Responsibilities

• Supports plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on patient age and needs as directed.
• Communicates patient care needs with patients, families, and staff.
• Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Adapts approach to each patient’s privacy and understanding.
