Job summary

Qualifications

• CNA certification required and provided by facility.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with daily living activities including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs and psychosocial support.
• Assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using proper techniques and ROM exercises.
• Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Assists residents with meals and hydration; supports wellness and recreational activities.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes; communicates changes to the charge nurse.
• Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and vital signs.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas.
• Participates in departmental/organization committees as needed.
