Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification to be obtained within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry.
• Two years acute care CNA experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and strong oral/written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs, I&O, daily weights, and other patient data in EMR.
• Performs purposeful rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Supports admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Runs errands, stocks nursing area, cleans equipment and work areas.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties and assists with nutrition-related tasks.
• Maintains skin integrity and ensures proper use of TED hose and sequential compression devices.
• May remove IVs, provide post-mortem care, and bladder scans as required.
• Adheres to infection prevention policies and aseptic techniques; demonstrates age-appropriate care.
• Reads and applies departmental policies; maintains growth and development per age-specific needs.
